About Us
Welcome to
Educational Foundation of Lower Florence
Since 2013, we have been organized as a 501(c)3 organization (donations are tax deductible) with the goal of helping our schools improve student proficiency in literacy and science. A volunteer organization, we seek to enhance our community’s ability to grow economically through a better educated population with knowledge and skills that are important to our economy.
Our goal
is to create excitement about learning so it becomes a lifelong pursuit by the members of our community. While our initial work has been with the public schools, the Educational Foundation of Lower Florence County intends to help all students, public or private, child or adult, achieve the level of education he or she aspires to reach. We are a volunteer organization which offers community service opportunities to all who wish to participate in this exciting, educational opportunity.

Our foundation is an educational organization in South Carolina. It started in 2013 because we realized that our communities needed help with literacy levels in the school district. We work side to side with the school district to teach young children how to read and improve their lives.
Our foundation has been
Working with the Communities
of Lake City, Olanta, Coward, and Scranton for over 8 years! We believe in the power of education and empowerment to improve a child’s quality of life. Eradicating illiteracy from our country can sound like a big challenge.
But if we start thinking globally and acting locally, we’ll be putting our best efforts to improve our education system and our society. A child who can read is a child with endless possibilities.
