- Associate Professor of Public Health and Chair of the Healthcare Administration Department at Francis Marion University
Dr. Sarah Kershner joined Francis Marion University in Spring 2017 and currently serves as an Associate Professor of Public Health and Chair of the Healthcare Administration Department. She received a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior from the University of South Carolina, Arnold School of Public Health. Prior to her role at Francis Marion, Sarah worked at Fact Forward (formerly SC Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy) for over nine years where she managed a federal research study supporting the implementation of reproductive health curricula in South Carolina middle schools aimed at reducing the teen birth rate statewide. She has authored several peer-reviewed articles, presented dozens of presentations nationwide, and has been involved on review teams and panels with Mathematica Policy Research, Cornell University, and ETR Associates. She has also been a part of several boards and managed a 5million grant for 5 years

Laura Boyington was league president at Coward Dixie Youth for 12 years was also district Director for Dixie Boys Baseball for 14 years. She has coached baseball and our softball for 26 years locally here in our Rec Leagues. PTO president at JC Lynch Elementary school for three years, Youth Director at Grace and Glory youth ministries for three years. Surrendered Drama team leader for eight years and traveled from Texas to Tennessee with the ministry. She now works for NASB (North American Senior Benefits) as an independent broker. Laura is licensed in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.

Michelle has a master’s degree in counseling and is also a licensed Social Worker, a licensed Perinatal Grief Counselor, and Certified Grief Recovery Specialist. Michelle worked as a medical social worker with McLeod Regional Medical Center for eight years.

Gloria has 36 years experience in education, having served as Principal and Assistant Principal in Florence School District Three, Principal Leader (Lee County), Teacher (Williamsburg County), External Review Team Liaison (Britton’s Neck Elementary) and 4K Regional Coordinator (SC First Steps). Her extensive background in instructional leadership and student development has equipped her with the skills to foster academic excellence and create supportive learning environments. This enables her to better advise programs and methods for the foundation.

Kim is a retired educator with 35 years’ experience teaching 5K through 7th grade. She was employed by Florence School District Three for 31 years. When she left the classroom, she became a Master Teacher and then a Literacy Coach. Her passion is helping kids to love learning.

Retired Homemaker with a BS in Psychology. Worked as a social worker in childhood abuse and neglect. Passionate about tutoring and pushing the next generation forward with enhanced reading comprehension skills. She is a lead DIBELS assessor and is active in tutoring kindergarten and first grade.
